What would you like to Know?
Who can use swimmer’s skin?
Due to the sunscreens in swimmer’s skin, children under the age of 6 months cannot use the product. Basically if you’re 6 months or older, go for it!
How do we use it?
Don’t be shy! Apply to all exposed areas of your skin, excluding the soles of your feet. For external use only and please keep out of your eyes.
What’s in it?
Heaps of ingredients to nourish your skin, including – grape seed oil, sorbitan olivate, beeswax, calendula extract, rose hip extract, jojoba extract, carrot extract, xanthan gum, aloe vera extract, kelp extract, vitamin E, atlas cedarwood essential oil, litsea cubeba essential oil and don’t forget the sunscreen, zinc oxide.
Why sunscreens?
We figured most people put sunscreen on when they go for a swim. So why not use sunscreen and a pre-swimming lotion. Please remember that when swimming in the pool and the ocean we recommend that sunscreen is applied every hour. We encourage you to wear hats and rashies and try to minimise your exposure out in the sun between the hours of 11.00am and 3.00pm.
Why does my skin get dry and itchy during and after swimming?
Water removes the thin layer of surface oil of the skin that normally locks in moisture. Without that protective layer, fluid in the skin and surrounding cells evaporate rapidly, drying the skin. Lack of moisture also causes tiny fissures to develop, causing the skin to become irritated and itchy.
What are some of the results of using swimmer’s skin?
Smooth, soft skin. Smells fresh and clean and most importantly, no smell or itch!
Do I need to remove it after swimming?
This is personal choice. The feedback we have received and from personal use are that you do not need to remove it.
If you have any other questions or an idea or thought about the product, we would love to hear it!
